This trail is on an old gravel pit site peppered with bodies of water. It winds its way through pine and mixed forests and modest clearings, rising and falling as it goes, but without requiring too much extra exertion. At the start of the trail is an outdoor gym (including some 100% timber equipment), a stretching wall, a children’s playground, a mini-adventure trail and a recreational area. The ‘beach’ offers opportunities for swimming and beach volleyball.
In winter you can ski on 2 km and 3 km circuits (with a 5 km circuit currently being developed) and go snowtubing, while in the warmer months you can try your hand at orienteering (using the permanent checkpoints dotted around the site or MOBO) and disc golf, which you can play year-round on an 18-hole course (albeit with a few fewer holes in winter).
Snow tube hire for both children and adults is available by calling ahead (mainly on weekends).
